1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Roots Shop website at www.roots-shop.com (“Platform”) and any purchases or transactions made through it. By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately.

Roots Shop is a multi-vendor online marketplace operating in the United Arab Emirates. We connect buyers with independent sellers (“Sellers”) who list and sell products through our Platform.

2. Eligibility

To use the Platform, you must be at least 18 years of age and capable of entering into a legally binding contract under UAE law. By registering an account, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

3. Account Registration

You may register as a Buyer or apply to become a Seller. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at sales@roots-shop.com if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or are inactive for an extended period.

4. Products and Listings

Roots Shop is a marketplace platform. Individual Sellers are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and quality of their product listings. Roots Shop does not manufacture, warehouse, or own the products listed on the Platform, except where explicitly stated.

We reserve the right to remove any listing that violates our policies, applicable UAE law, or these Terms.

5. Pricing and Currency

All prices displayed on the Platform are in UAE Dirhams (AED) and include applicable VAT at the current UAE rate of 5%, unless otherwise stated. Prices are set by individual Sellers and may change without notice. The price displayed at the time of checkout is the price you will be charged.

6. Payment

We accept the following payment methods:

Visa
Mastercard
Tabby (Buy Now, Pay Later)

Payments are processed securely through our payment gateway partners. Roots Shop does not store your full card details. By submitting a payment, you authorise us to charge the total amount shown at checkout, including the product price, delivery fee, service fee, and applicable VAT.

7. Delivery

Delivery is arranged by each individual Seller using their preferred logistics provider. Delivery fees and estimated timelines are set by the Seller and are displayed at checkout prior to purchase. Roots Shop is not liable for delays caused by logistics providers or circumstances beyond our control.

Free delivery is available on orders above AED 200 within the UAE, as communicated on the Platform from time to time.

8. Returns and Exchanges

Buyers may return eligible products within 15 days of the delivery date, subject to the following conditions:

The product must be unused, in its original packaging, and in the same condition as received.
Products marked as “non-returnable” at the time of purchase are not eligible.
Perishable goods, digital products, and personalised items are not eligible for return.
To initiate a return, contact sales@roots-shop.com with your order number and reason for return.

Return shipping fees may apply depending on the reason for return:

Seller’s responsibility: If the product is damaged, does not match the description, the wrong item was sent, or there is a packaging/labelling error.
Buyer’s responsibility: If the reason is a change of mind, an incorrect address was provided, or the buyer was unavailable at the time of delivery.

Upon receipt and inspection of the returned product, we will process a refund or exchange within 7 business days. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method (Visa, Mastercard, or Tabby).

9. Seller Terms

By registering as a Seller on Roots Shop, you agree to the following:

You are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and quality of all products you list.
You must hold all necessary licences, permits, and UAE VAT registration (if applicable) required to sell your products.
Roots Shop charges 0% commission on sales. A platform service fee of AED 5.75 per order applies, subject to 5% VAT.
You must arrange delivery through your preferred logistics provider and dispatch orders within the timeframe specified in your listing.
You must honour the Roots Shop return policy for eligible products.
Roots Shop reserves the right to suspend or terminate Seller accounts that violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent activity.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on the Platform, including logos, graphics, text, and software, is the property of Roots Shop or its licensors and is protected by UAE intellectual property law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any Platform content without our prior written consent.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by UAE law, Roots Shop shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid for the relevant transaction.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai, UAE.

13. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
